The Career Focus program has been renewed for 8 months, starting August 1, 2012.
The program will subsidize one half of a new employee’s wages for up to 8 months of employment.
For the past three years, CPISC has delivered the Career Focus program providing federal government wage subsidy funding to employers to hire post-secondary graduates into the printing and graphic communications industry. The program gave employers the opportunity to develop the skills of industry newcomers through program agreed learning plans based on the CPISC national skill standards, helping new employees become multi-skills and adaptable workers.
More than sixty individuals participated in the program, representing 47 companies resulting in a total of $502,040 in subsidies to the industry.
