Overview
Increasing the industry’s profile and promoting careers in the printing and graphic communications industry as a viable option has been an ongoing priority of the Council. Through a national Communications Advisory Committee, CPISC has identified a number of strategies to promote the industry.
The occupational profiles have proven to be a key resource to education and training institutions in highlighting the many opportunities for employment within the industry. As a key partner with Skills/Competences Canada, CPISC was instrumental in ensuring that, for the first time ever, Canada was represented at the WorldSkills Competition in the offset printing category. We continue to be instrumental in organizing the annual national competitions and in supporting our young competitors who participate in the bi-annual world competitions. In addition, through attendance at trade shows and conferences and meetings throughout the country, CPISC has been able to promote its I Love Print campaign.
